The last few months have been busy for me and very productive. I accomplished all my goals and am looking to choose my next adventure to write about on the site. I'm thinking something physical but would like to do something at least a little different. Any ideas??

I came across the Kickboxing 10 week challenge, which could be fun, but would probably kill me. I think they are starting the challenge asap. Does your gym have anything like that?

I don't know if I'm ready for a physical challenge after all. I've been having back, knee, and foot trouble lately. It turns out I have a bone spur right on the bottom of my foot that seems to have been throwing my alignment off. I have to go see a doctor about some possible options....surgery, etc.

it's about staying on the bike---
thanks lance and marc for the title idea for this note, thanks darren for the spirit idea for this note...i feel a post coming on, and possibly a folk song - about getting back on the bike and staying on it..my 80 year old godfather, who still intensly swims laps and works out daily, once told me that time is going to pass anyway so we may as well be positive and constructive with our use of it; that notion stays with me everyday, it drives all my thoughts and actions. like being almost 38 years old and training hard and riding a 2200 mile bike race with guys young enough to be your son...like jack lalanne working out 3 three hours everyday and still writing health books...like stanley kunitz writing volumes of poetry and raising a big garden til past the age of 100...like clint doing his best work in his 70s...never giving up the spirit to grow and learn and explore and just as importantly, applying the gentle effort needed to maintain that stoke and keeping it alive, dare i say (you bet i do)... forever - -more to come...i promise.

  5. Hi all,

I have to admit something to myself and share with you as well. Something is missing from my life and i'm not sure what.

Perhaps more clients or just doing something more creative than knitting. I used to enjoy channeling my creativity doing mixed media collage.
Well, if i create a spot to do this in my basement, (set up a table and supplies) then I might actually be inspired again.
I will contemplate this idea and even act on it--maybe this weekend.
What are you all up to?
    thanks for sharing,
    Marlene

    Hey marlene,

I'm suffering from a similar stagnation in my artwork... I have a bunch of projects that I want to do, but getting out the soldering iron or even the paint/charcoal/etc seems like it'll make such a mess and thus I don't bother. Unfortunately, I don't have a nice little basement (my apartment is tiny) which makes it quite difficult to do much here. Additionally, my portfolio site has been hacked by some <insert explitive here> from Qatar so I now need to figure out what's up and get my domain name back!

Anyway, I do think that creating a spot will be really good! Also, we could consider setting up a challenge for the week/month. One thing that was great about school was the assignments, where I could always push my creativity to express something that was, perhaps, not the ideal topic and create an ideal solution. We could pick an idea/emotion/etc for each month and share photos of what we've come up with...

    It would be quite fun!

  7. Hi Wynne,

    Thanks for replying -

I like your idea about a project each month - Let's start and declare one for Sept. When it's finished we can send eachother a photo of it.

    What theme/feeling should we use?

What type of artwork do you do - can you send me photos of it?
    thanks,
    Marlene

    Hey Marlene,

Sorry I haven't responded earlier, I've been a bit sick. Some evil hackers from Qatar took down my portfolio site (not sure why they found me to be a good target, I certainly couldn't pay their ransom even if I believed in doing such things) but some of my work can be seen at http://picasaweb.google.com/neverair/Wynne?authkey=Gv1sRgCKPYkc-OwMjHUA#

I think something along the lines of the circle of life, or perhaps something more seasonal? I think we should open it to the readers too if you're interested (or we could do a few first here)

Anyway, I look forward to hearing back from you!

    Best,
    Wynne
